Analysis

We believe that the Bible should be our guide in belief and conduct. This claim is made by those who believe sisters should be active in all aspects of ecclesial life and work, and also by those who consider the Bible defines restricted roles for sisters.

In this section we examine, in the light of the Bible, the interpretations presented against sisters’ full involvement in all ecclesial services. It is our hope that by subjecting the arguments of others to critical and transparent assessment, a consensus may eventually be reached on what the Bible actually teaches; and if not a consensus, then at least a greater understanding among us as to why different outcomes are reached. We do not aim or wish to be confrontational, but in humility to seek and present Bible truth.
