Written very soon after the author’s conversion to an egalitarian view of women’s roles in the ecclesia, this letter reviews what were, for her, the strongest arguments. Observations on the Judaistic flavour of 1 Cor 14:34-35 were incorporated into the 2007 revisions of ‘All One in Christ Jesus’ by Ian and Averil McHaffie. This letter includes a NT word-study on “shame” and concludes with a lament for the lost opportunities in growth, balance and leadership.
