The Position of Women in the Church

This persuasive appeal and its chain of positive responses decry the loss of female talent and energy to the ecclesias. By drawing on only 2/5s of our population we “attempt so much and achieve so little”.

Stella laments that many sisters are not even serving in functions open to them and gives three reasons for why this is so. Nearly 100 years later the effect continues, adding poignancy to her hopeful petition for pragmatic reform.
