Authority in the New Testament

The NT words for ‘authority’, ‘head’, ‘submission’ and ‘lordship’, when searched and classified, reveal the New Covenant concept of Jesus as head, and all the members of the body in submission to him and to each other.

The belief that brothers are appointed to positions of authority in the ecclesia is shown to be an inaccurate understanding of scripture based on poor Biblical scholarship.

Anyone, male or female, willing to serve the Lord by teaching, leading or ministering, qualifies by the same means – a strong faith demonstrated by love and good deeds.
